Good health means having opportunities to work, play, learn and contribute to one’s community. Health is more than being free from disease. The Community Development team works alongside community members on initiatives that contribute to our community’s well-being. Initiatives focused on food security, seniors’ isolation, and community beautification are just a few of the many programs that promote community health.
Volunteerism is a strong indicator of the health of a community. Civically engaged communities are vibrant, and as such, KCHC believes in promoting volunteer opportunities. KCHC has over 100 registered volunteers working in a variety of positions from helping newcomers learn English to helping to pack Good Food Box orders.
At KCHC we pay particular attention to the social, emotional, and financial needs of our clients, since they help support good health. The Community Development team meets people where they are and advocates for their success.
