{"id":5643,"date":"2026-03-06T10:36:21","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T15:36:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kchc.ca\/?post_type=volunteer&#038;p=5643"},"modified":"2026-03-06T10:36:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T15:36:22","slug":"community-driver","status":"publish","type":"volunteer","link":"https:\/\/kchc.ca\/fr\/volunteering\/community-driver\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Driver"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Volunteer Driver<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteer title: Volunteer driver, Senior\u2019s Food Box program<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Location: Kingston, various neighbourhoods<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Availability: 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 4<sup>th<\/sup> Thursdays of the month, approximately 10:30am-1:30pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for a volunteer driver to help deliver our Senior\u2019s Food Box to seniors\u2019 homes around Kingston. This program provides fresh produce and dry goods delivered to seniors\u2019 front doors. You will be helping to ensure that seniors in our community have access to fresh, healthy foods, even if they have mobility barriers or other limitations, along with providing a friendly face and a community connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Time commitment<\/strong>: Approximately 4-6 hours per month, split over the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 4<sup>th<\/sup> Thursdays of the month, starting at 10:30am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tasks<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pick up orders and your delivery sheet from our warehouse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Count and pack your deliveries into your car (with help from the volunteer team)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliver to seniors per the instructions on the delivery sheet, greeting each client with a friendly face<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate with program coordinator on any delivery issues in a timely manner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return any undelivered items to KCHC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must have own car to complete deliveries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have valid driver\u2019s license and insurance; must obtain driver\u2019s abstract from Ministry of Transportation (costs reimbursed) and sign volunteer driver form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must complete vulnerable sector check with Kingston Police (costs are reimbursed)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to confidentiality of client information, and to always treating clients with respect and kindness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the \u2018become a volunteer\u2019 button below to fill out a Volunteer Application Form.
