Special Interest Programs and Groups
Sewing Club
Newcomers get together to work on their own sewing projects or start new ones. This group meets every other Friday at the LINC (16 Bath Rd.) from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Ethnic Cooking Classes
Newcomers meet once a month to learn a new cuisine, cook, and share a meal together in our teaching kitchen, located at Kingston Community Health Centres (263 Weller Ave.).
Regular Social Events
Our regular social events provide you with the opportunity to meet new people during our annual potluck in December and our summer Potluck in the Park. Please join our quarterly newsletter or follow us on Facebook to find out more about getting involved with these events.
Community Connections
Our Community Connections program offers support in smaller group settings or on an individual basis. Programs include:
One on one language, cultural, and social mentoring
Get connected with a mentor to practice English, learn about life in Canada, and make a new connection in the community.
Weekly English conversation circles
Join a small conversation group to practice basic English in a casual environment and meet new people.
Citizenship classes
Prepare for your upcoming test in a group setting.
Income tax support
KCHC – Immigrant Services staff and volunteers provide basic support with filing taxes. Contact us if you would like to receive these services or volunteer.
