Position Summary
The KCHC Program Support (PS) supports facilitation of a positive, safe and engaging learning environment for youth. Working directly to support programs within the Youth Services portfolio, they are on-site predominantly during after-school programming hours. The PS works within a programming team guided by the Team Lead of Student Experience and Manager of Youth Services. Responsibilities include ongoing communication, regular meetings with staff, working directly with students as assigned, contributing to program quality improvement, and set up/monitoring of programming spaces. As directed by their lead or manager the PS will facilitate programs based on the needs of the program. Success in this position is achieved through knowledge of youth engagement strategies, expertise in building relationships, strong knowledge of risk management, deep understanding of different learning styles and the needs of students facing barriers and challenges in a culturally and linguistically diverse, low-income communities.
