Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Regional Services and Partnerships and the Inter-Professional Care
Team (IPCT) Implementation Committee, the Registered Dietitian (RD) will be a part of the allied health
professional team serving primary care practices within Rural Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (RFLA).
As a member of the Inter-professional Care Team serving RFLA, the RD provides nutritional counselling
and education to both individuals and groups and participates in the development, implementation,
monitoring and evaluation of programs and services for clients. Services will be delivered in offices and,
where necessary, other community locations throughout RFLA. The RD shall work closely with the IPCT,
the Physicians and regional stakeholders, notably the local Diabetes programming and other KCHC staff,
to make sure that services provided do not duplicate existing services and are refined and improved over
time. The RD works within the framework of the social determinants of health with an emphasis on
prevention and health promotion.

Basic Education and Experience Requirements
- Current membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario is required.
- Three or more years of experience in community nutrition, clinical counseling and group
programming. - Experience in program development, implementation, facilitation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives, program development, implementation, facilitation,
monitoring and evaluation. - Demonstrated experience working in chronic disease management.
- Relevant clinical experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of
complex case load. - Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Successful candidates must possess strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills. The ability to
work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds is required. - Knowledge of and sensitivity to the impact of social, economic, psychological, and cultural issues in
diet and nutrition. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to community-based healthcare and knowledge of community-based
resources. - Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with various computer programs and applications, especially Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational skills and above average attention to detail.
- Experience in Pediatric Care is considered an asset.
- Canadian Diabetes Educators Certification (CDE) is considered an asset.
- Experience working in rural areas, with Indigenous health issues, and seniors are assets.
