Kingston Community Health Centres’ newcomer bridging clinic at Access+ is a dedicated health service for refugees, protected persons, and other newcomers who are new to Canada and face language or system barriers when trying to access health care. This clinic offers transitional primary care for up to two years, giving clients the time and support they need to settle, build trust, and eventually connect with a long-term family doctor or health care provider.
Who is this clinic for?
This clinic is for newcomers who are referred through settlement agencies in the Kingston area.
To be eligible, clients must:
- Be referred to by a recognized settlement agency (ISKA, Keys, ACFOMI, Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest)
- Not have a primary care provider
What we offer
We provide:
- Primary health care (checkups, medications, chronic condition management)
- Immunizations and preventive care
- Health education and system navigation
- Language support through interpretation
- Support transitioning to a long-term health provider
Duration of care
Clients can be seen at the Bridging Clinic for up to two years.
During that time, our team will work closely with you and your settlement worker to prepare for a smooth transition to a permanent provider.

To access this service:
- Speak with your settlement worker
- They will help refer you to the clinic if you are eligible

Access+ clinic is located at 105-797 Princess Street.
How to get to us? There are a few bus routes to choose from, including routes 4, 501 & 502. The clinic is about 900 metres from the Kingston Centre (or about a 15 minute walk).
You can come by car and park on site. Parking is available through the Grosline Lot, operated by the City of Kingston. It is accessible from the intersection of MacDonnell and Princess Streets. Payment is required from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking costs $1.50 per hour.
