Join us every Monday for Older Adults Day at the Rideau Heights Community Centre. Programs offer a variety of activities to keep you active, connected, and engaged.

Living Well in the Community is a falls prevention program designed for older adults. It aims to improve strength and balance, optimize cognition, and promote self-management through a variety of functional activities. It is an ongoing program run by an Occupational Therapist. It runs twice a week: Mondays at Rideau Heights Community Centre and Thursdays at KCHC. Registration is required.

Fun & Friendly Crafts is a drop-in craft group for area adults. New participants are welcome and can bring their craft supplies or use the provided ones. Members work in various art forms, including beadwork, looming, scrapbooking and cross-stitching.

Explore your neighbourhood like never before! This group is free and open to all ages. Poles provided & can be borrowed between sessions. Participants must be assessed by our physiotherapist on staff prior to the first class.

Each week, participants can look forward to learning a variety of cooking methods, how to follow and adapt recipes, make ingredient substitutions, and stretch their food dollars. The program also explores cultural foods and emphasizes using fresh, local ingredients. All are welcome.

Forest therapy is a gentle, guided experience that can support every aspect of your well-being. Benefits include boosted immune function, attention restoration and a reduction in stress and depression. Our guide is Stana Luxford-Oddie, who will take us through the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. Transportation is available from our Street Health Centre or Weller Avenue location.

Baby Care Basics is a drop-in group that provides collaborative education about infant care for newborns under 6 months old, including feeding, skincare and treating common illness. Enjoy conversing with other caregivers and parents as well as learning tips and tricks from our expert nurses and dietitians. Transportation and snacks are available.

The Good Food Box (GFB) Kingston, is a non-profit fresh vegetables and fruit distribution program. For over 20 years, the GFB has been providing monthly access to fresh produce boxes through community host sites, with the mission of increasing accessibility to fresh produce in the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington area.

A free group designed to help expecting parents find community programs and supports like the Good Food Box and milk coupons. A nurse will be onsite to answer questions, and light snacks will be provided.

Feel Good Fridays is a weekly drop-in for older adults at the Rideau Heights Community Centre. Programming includes exercise and fall prevention classes, a talking cafe, instrument lending and music lessons, Minds in Motion classes by the Alzheimer’s Society of KFL&A and a monthly hot meal for all participants.
