About us

Pathways to Education empowers high school youth in North Kingston with tools to succeed in school, work, and life. We are a unique community-based program designed to increase high school graduation rates in designated neighbourhoods.

Pathways to Education’s innovative program is preparing youth for tomorrow and working to break the cycle of poverty. We offer tutoring, mentoring, financial support, and advocacy to support high school students to successfully transition to post-secondary education, training or meaningful employment.

The Pathways to Education program has worked with over 1250 students in Kingston since 2010.

What we offer

  • Academic supports: recurring weekly tutoring sessions for all high school subjects
  • Career assistance: assistance with career exploration and planning post-secondary options
  • Financial assistance: opportunity to receive financial support such as grocery gift cards
  • Mentoring activities: connect with the land through Outdoor Academy, environmental science education, campus tours, training and skill-building opportunities, and more!
  • Career assistance: post-secondary scholarships for $500 per year upon completion of two consecutive years up to a total of $2,000.

All high school students who live in the catchment area are eligible to register for the program. The boundaries of the catchment area are from Conacher Drive south to Raglan Road and from Division Street east to the Cataraqui River.
